During the month of August 2026, ACAT-Burundi continued to closely monitor the human rights situation on the ground. The facts recorded and verified highlight the ineffectiveness of public security and judicial institutions. Indeed, crimes and violations continue to occur, while security and judicial authorities fail to conduct investigations to identify and prosecute the alleged perpetrators.
